there are alot of earthquakes all over the world . I just saw one in Santo (Luganville). I have noticed that there are more eathquakes happening every week then every day or last hour .There are Two earthquakes that are more current one named Luzon , philipine Islands and the other Michoancan , Mexicom . The first one there were seven people who were damaged . The other one one person was killed and damaged . the last earthquake was in sicily , italy in 1693 and this earthquake caused 60,000 deaths and distroyed several villages and towns . A earth quake is when two blocks of the earth slip apart I guess you can say this is like divergent plate boundries . A earthquake is caused when the plates move apart and the edges unstick on one of the faults and there is an earthquake . A earthquake shakes when the seismic waves shake the earth as they move through it , and when the waves reach the earths surface , they shake the ground and anything on it . They use a seismograph to measure the size of earthquakes and they do this at the surface of the earth to determine how large the earthquake is. A seismograph can also detemaine where the earthquake happened .Did you know the first earthquake was reported in california in 1769 . From 1975-1995 there were only four states that did not have earthquakes and they were florida , lowa , North dokota and Wiaconsin . One last intresting fact was that the worlds deadliest earthquake was recorded in 1556 in central China .

1) Latest Quake
A latest quake was in January,9 in British Columbia, the magnitude was 5.7.
2) Today in Earth Quake History
There was an Earthquake in Tokyo that killed 1,900 people in 1945.
3)The science of Earth Quakes
An Earth qukae start at the epicenter, which is caused by the fault zone slipping and rubbing against the epicenter.
4) Cool Earth Quake Facts
The largest Earth Quake struck Alaska and was a magnitude of 9.2.

I learned a lot from this website. I learned that the moon has earthquakes that are called Moonquakes. I found this very interesting because I never knew that there actually could be earthquakes on the moon. I always thought that earthquakes could only happened on Earth. I also learned that the largest recorded earthquake in the world had a magnitude of 9.5. It happened in Chile on May 22, 1960.

An earthquake happened on Tuesday 1/9/07. It was in Afghanistan at ll:55:21. This earthquake was very recent. A earthquake hitted Avezzano, Italy in 1915. This earthquake caused 30,000 deaths it was the deadliest earthquake. Sientists can locate earthquakes by seismograms. The earliest earthquake was reported in California.

1. LATEST QUAKE: Ausralia region. Thursday, jan 18 16:01:24 UTC 2007
2. TODAY IN EARTHQUAKE HISTORY: The Hawaiin Islands are the tops of gigantic volcanoes that formed above a hot spot in the earth's interior. As the volcanoes grew, they were carried away from the hot spot as the Pacific Plate moves northwestward at about 3 1/2 inches per yr.
3. THE SCIENCE OF EARTHQUAKES: An earthquake is what happens when two blocks of the earth suddenly slip past each other. The location directly above it on the surface of the earth is called the epicenter.
4. COOL EARTHQUAKE FACTS: The earliest reported earthquake in California was felt in 1769 by the exploring expedition of Gaspar de Portola while the group was camping about 48 kilometers (30 miles) southeast of L.A.
