Our theme isnide/out side connects to our study of mineral rocks in various ways. One way is that we are studying the inside of a rock and the outside texture of rocks. Two, we did a collage on what minerals are used to make things that we use. Lastly, we studied how rocks are fromed in magma and lava, and their cooling rate.
Our theme; inside and outside, does connect to our studies with igneous rocks, and minerals. Igneous rocks are one of the most important type of rock, that are located on the inside, and outside of the earths crust. There are also many minerals present, which leads me to intrusive, and extrusive types of rocks. Intrusive and extrusive tells where the rock is formed; which is the inside, and outside of the earths crust, (intruvive=inside, extrusive=outside). So igneous rocks basically connect to our theme inside and outside. Also, minerals connect to our theme inside and outside. We use them in our everyday lives. We use them when we're inside the house, and outside of the house. So basically that shows how minerals are connected to our theme inside and outside.
Our theme inside/outside connects to minerals and igneous rocks. It connects to our theme because igneous rocks can be formed inside or outside of the earth. You can also identify rocks and minerals by the properties they have inside of them like density and hardness you can also identify rocks and minerals by their outside properties like color.
I think that the theme of this school year inside/outside connects to how we are studying igneous rocks because igneous rocks are made from fire, and there is extrusive and intrusive rocks, intrusive is inside, and extrusive is outside, which is our theme inside outside. I think that my hypothesis is right because in a lot of the classes, we are doing activities that connect to the theme inside/outside, so maybe the intusive/extrusive way is how Ms.Kissoon is using inside/outside to connect with her class.

Birthstones are related to the month in which a person was born. Rocks can be found evrywhere on Earth and all rocks are made of minerals. Rocks originate from lava and magma and their related to their cooling rate.
every rock has a inside and out but all rocks are diffrent. i have noticed that a rock can be intrusive or evtrusive but there are not many igneous rocks that have a high density. There are many rocks that are light in color like pegmatite, granite, rhyolite ,vesicular rhyolite, pumice and, obsidian . The thing that was most intresting to me was that rocks can be both light and dark and color . Inside and the ouside theme for this year really relates to rocks beacuse you can easily see the outside properties of a rock . You can not easily see the insides of a rock .

Also, we observe the outside characteristic of a rock, like color, texture etc, and we can also observe the inside characteristics, like what are the minerals present. Minerals connect to inside out side because we have and use minerals inside and outside our bodies.
I think that our inside/outside theme cpnnects with our study on igneous rocks and minerals becuase igneous rocks and minerals originate in or out of the earths csurface. LIke rcoks that are formed from magma, those are rocks from under the earths surface (inside). Rocks on the earths surface such as cobble stones, and other stones are (outside).
Like the collages. My theme was birthsontes. Birthsones group up months and people who where born in them and each Month has its own mineral to it. Birthsontes on used everyday, either to where or to find out daily horoscopes. Minerals are used everyday from the kitchen, to outside of the house. Inside/Outside connects with everything. Either your in it or your out.
With igneous rocks and minerals there are obviously insides and outsides. For example An Igneous rock could look glassy but that doesn't mean that they don't have minerals on the inside. And also our first museum trip I saw a mineral with a different looking outside and the inside had a lot of crystals.
i think that our theme connects to minrals in many ways. For example inside the earth rocks (intrusive rocks) cool slowly so there are dirent and bigger rock. Rocks that cool outside the earth (extrusive rocks) are smaller and are diffrent.

I think this connects to our theme inside outside because Igneous can be found inside of the earth or outside on the Earth. Also minerals are inside of our rocks but you could see them if you look.
i think that minerals connect to our theme of INSIDE/OUTSIDE because there is minerals inside: us, the earth, cars, computers, T.V.s, and pretty much every thing els. also there is minerals outside: the earth, medicine and most other stuff. We use minrals every time we take a shower, we use shampoo that has minrals in it we use soap, the bath tub, and any thing we use to clean our selfs.
We have been studying what minerals might be in a rock and also in the beginning of the year we learned a little bit of what is inside the earth. Also we learned how to identify rock by looking at the outside f the rock. So this connects to the inside/outside theme.
I think that our theme for this year relates to our studies on igneous rocks and minerals because some rock are formed inside the earth and some rocks are formed outside the earth thats called intrusive and extrusive.My theme for my mineral collage was jewels before and after they are polished and when they are raw.
Our school theme of inside/outside connects with our study of igneous rocks by the way we identify them. To identify an igneous rock, we need to see more than meets the eye. Minerals are everywhere, granite is on the edges of our sidewalk, marble is the foundation of buildings, ect. Igneous rocks originate from volcanos, they are caused by lava cooling.
